Katie Holmes enrolled in a modeling school in Toledo, Ohio, when she was 14 years old. In 1996, she competed in the International Model and Talent Association Competition in New York City. Following her To Kill a Mockingbird monologue, Holmes was assigned an agent and an audition tape was sent to the casting director of the film The Ice Storm, in which she made her big-screen debut in 1997 alongside Sigourney Weaver and Kevin Kline.

Holmes was also best known as the ex-wife of Hollywood A-lister Tom Cruise, with whom she had a noticeable height difference when photographed together in the past, standing 5 feet and 9 inches tall. On the other hand, Holmes rose to prominence as Joey Potter in the television series Dawson’s Creek. Her directorial debut was in the 2016 film All We Had, in which she also starred. Holmes would not require credit cards because she has achieved success in her career.
