Lupita Nyong’o

Lupita Nyong’o first worked as a production assistant in Hollywood after earning her bachelor’s degree in film and theatre studies from Hampshire College. She subsequently made her acting debut in the short film East River and later returned to Kenya to star in the TV series Shuga. Nyong’o eventually made her feature film debut in the biographical period drama 12 Years a Slave, for which the actress received widespread recognition and an Academy Award.
